Especially the baby ones- they remind me of serious little gnomes. Boletes are one of the safest groups of mushrooms for edibles. L. aurantiacum can be found fruiting during summer and autumn in forests throughout Europe and North America. L. aurantiacum is not known to associate with conifers in Europe. Appears in the first half of June and grows until mid-October. Fruits singly or in groups. Widely distributed in Eurasia and North America
